Things Are Going Pretty Well

So this afternoon I have a bit of downtime, and I want to use a blog post to count my blessings. Earlier this month my folks came for a very nice visit. We made some good memories together, and I'm looking forward to visiting them at Christmas.

In the freelance writing world, my clients are very happy with my work. In fact, about two weeks ago was my first experience with imposter syndrome. After receiving some praise (and $$$), I thought, 'This has to be some mistake.' But yeah, it did happen to me, and I will work hard to make sure it keeps happening in the future. That's all there is to it.

In other news, I have a story that's on a short list for publication in a British literary journal. I'll find out in November. This is the third time this year that one of my stories has been on a short list. The other two were duds, and unfortunately neither of those stories have yet found homes. Third time's a charm!

To top it all off, Honeycrisp apples were $1.99/pound at Safeway this week. Yum.
